Prof. Raanan Rein Print E-mail
Completed his doctoral studies at Tel Aviv University. Since 1991, he has taught Spanish and Latin American History at Tel Aviv University, and was also visiting professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, and at Emory University. Winner of several prizes and awards, in 2003 he became the first Israeli scholar to be elected to the Argentine Academy of History. Prof. Rein is the author of a great many books and scholarly articles. His recent publications include: In the Shadow of the Holocaust and the Inquisition: Israel's Relations with Francoist Spain (1997), Peronismo, populismo y política: Argentina 1943-1955 (1998), Spain and the Mediterranean since 1898 (1999) and Argentina, Israel and the Jews (2003).
His latest book, Juan Atilio Bramuglia: Bajo la sombra del líder. La segunda línea del liderazgo peronista, was published in Buenos Aires in 2006. Recently, Prof. Rein was appointed Vice Rector of Tel Aviv University.
